Hospitalist Services

Full-Time Hospital Care

Hospitalists work full-time caring for sick, hospitalized patients. The hospitalist staff is located within the hospital, and they strive to improve the quality, efficiency, and promptness of care. The goal of the Hospitalist Service is to achieve the best care for patients at Memorial Hospital.

Hospitalists admit patients from local and regional primary care providers and specialists. Patients who have no primary care doctor are also cared for by the hospitalists. The hospitalist team consults with and assists other providers to help manage their patients, providing integrated medical support in every clinical department of the hospital.

What Can a Hospitalist Help Me With?

Our hospitalists can help you with both medical and administrative issues. Most hospitalists receive several years of internal medicine training and some receive specialty fellowships in pulmonary and critical care.

Hospitalists are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Anytime you need to talk to someone about your care, a hospitalist will be on-hand to answer your questions. They are also familiar with the many medical specialists working in the hospital and can coordinate your care with them to ensure you are getting the best treatment possible.
