Occupational Therapy

Regain Your Independence After an Injury or Illness

Occupational Therapy utilizes neuromuscular stimulation, muscle re-education, exercise activities, splinting, manual therapy including ASTYM, adaptive equipment, and education as means to prevent permanent disability and to restore functional capabilities. While age is a factor in the treatment used, all ages – infant to geriatric – are served.

Memorial Hospital’s Occupational Therapists are professionally qualified persons who have graduated from an occupational therapy curriculum approved by the American Medical Association in collaboration with the American Occupational Therapy Association, have passed the national registration examination, and maintain registration with this organization. Our therapists are also licensed by the state of Indiana. Their responsibilities involve the evaluation and interpretation of findings, as well as rehabilitation of the patient through exercises, activities, and simulation of vocational situations and daily living skills.

Some diagnoses treated include:

  • Disorders of the Shoulder, Elbow, Wrist, and Hand Including Rotator Cuff and Carpal Tunnel Injuries
