Memorial Hospital Honored as a Top 20 Rural Hospital

Jasper, IN –Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center was named a top 20 rural community hospital by the National Rural Health Association (NRHA). Memorial Hospital was one of only two hospitals in Indiana to receive this recognition.

This ranking included prospective payment system (PPS) hospitals across the country and was based on an evaluation conducted by The Chartis Center for Rural Health using iVantage Health Analytics’ Hospital Strength Index. The determining factors for the top 20 rural community hospitals were based on eight indices: inpatient market share, outpatient market share, quality, outcomes, patient perspective, cost, charge, and financial efficiency.

“NRHA is committed to ensuring our members have the best information to manage their hospitals,” said Brock Slabeth, NRHA membership services senior vice president. “We’re pleased to recognize the accomplishments of these rural community hospitals.”
