Every 40 seconds, someone in the United States suffers a stroke, and every four minutes, someone dies from a stroke. To help make the public more aware of strokes, Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center is partnering with University of Louisville and Vascular Neurologist Jignesh Shah, M.D. to present “Let’s Fight Strokes!” on Thursday, October 17 from 6:00 – 7:15 p.m. at the Arnold Habig Center, located at 1301 St. Charles Street in Jasper. A free dinner will be provided.

Dr. Shah will discuss stroke signs and symptoms, risk factors, and treatment options for a basic understanding of strokes. At the end of this presentation you will be able to identify a stroke and have an understanding of what to expect when a stroke occurs.

Dr. Shah is the director of tele-neurology services and assistant professor at University of Louisville in Kentucky. Memorial Hospital partners with the University of Louisville Department of Neurology to provide teleneurology services to local communities.
