2025 LCM Outstanding Physician Award Recipient

Christine Stairs, MD has been named the 2025 Little Company of Mary (LCM) Outstanding Physician Award recipient at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center. This award is named in honor of the Little Company of Mary Sisters - USA, the founders of Memorial Hospital. The LCM Award is given annually to a physician on Memorial Hospital’s active medical staff who has been nominated through a hospital- and community-wide nomination process with the recipient being chosen by a selection committee from a group of finalists. The award is based on outstanding performance reflecting Memorial Hospital’s mission statement and the core values of Respect for Human Dignity, Compassionate Caring, Stewardship, Quality and Justice. The nominees for this year’s award included Douglas Bies, M.D.; Nikola Conrad, M.D.; Aaron Blair, M.D.; Adam Dawkins, M.D.; Erin Marchand, M.D.; Kyle Schroering, D.O.; Kevin Schewe, M.D.; Adam Songer, M.D.; Christine Stairs, M.D.; Benjamin Stillman, D.O.; Elizabeth Webb, M.D.; and Kathirene Wilcoxen, M.D.

Nomination forms for Dr. Stairs described her as someone who treats everyone equally and knows it takes everyone to provide the best care for patients. She was also described as someone who takes pride in her work and always makes sure she provides quality care. It was also mentioned that staff hear Dr. Stairs being talked about by patients in a positive way. “I have seen her outcomes in the hospital and in the office, and it's impressive.” “Patients and families ‘love’ her!”

Dr. Stairs received her medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis and completed a residency at Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Louisiana State University in Shreveport. She completed a fellowship in orthopedic sports medicine at University of Kentucky in Lexington. She is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and The American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. She provides orthopaedic services at Memorial Orthopaedic Associates, located at 695 W. 2^nd Street, Suite A2, in Jasper, Indiana.
