Memorial Hospital Now Offers Civil Surgeon Service

Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center now offers a Civil Surgeon service for those individuals applying for an adjustment of status in the immigration process. Civil Surgeon Stan Tretter, M.D. offers medical exams that are compliant with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) agency and includes an evaluation of medical history, a physical exam, testing for communicable diseases, and a review of immunizations. This new service is the result of a partnership between the Latino Collaboration Table and Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Tretter is a native of Spencer County. He completed his medical education at Indiana University School of Medicine and a residency in family practice at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. He joined Memorial Hospital’s active medical staff in 2001 and is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. Dr. Tretter serves as a primary care provider and vice president of medical affairs and chief medical officer at Memorial Hospital. He was approved as a civil surgeon by the Department of Homeland Security in November 2019.
