Laurie Wilbanks, M.D.

Laura Wilbanks, MD is a member of the active medical staff at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center.  Dr. Wilbanks received her bachelor of science degree from Purdue University in West Lafayette. She attended the University of Louisville School of Medicine where she earned her doctor of Medicine with distinction in research. The Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston chose her for their competitive surgical internship and residency in ophthalmology at the Storm Eye Institute.

Surgical internship and residency in ophthalmology at the Storm Eye Institute. As a resident she distinguished herself as a clinician, surgeon, and scholar. She has presented research spanning a range of topics at national ophthalmology meetings. In addition, she has experience in international outreach in ophthalmology.

She is board eligible ophthalmologist proficient in all aspects of general ophthalmic care including cataract surgery, glaucoma, diagnosis of acute retinal disorders, diabetic eye disease, and macular degeneration.
