When can I receive the COVID-19 vaccine?

Beginning, Wednesday, January 13th, Hoosiers 70 years and older will be able to schedule an appointment for a COVID-19 vaccine. Visit https://ourshot.in.gov or dial 211. As more vaccinations are available, additional age groups will be able to schedule an appointment.

Will getting the vaccine allow me to stop wearing masks and resume large gatherings?

No. This vaccine will significantly increase our arsenal as we fight COVID-19 and help us win this battle. As we know there will be a limited supply of vaccine initially, it will still be essential to rely on the tools that we know work to fight this disease. These tools continue to be:

  • Continue to wear a mask
  • Maintain social distancing
  • Refrain from holding or attending large gatherings
  • Wash your hands frequently or use hand sanitizer
  • If you are sick, stay home and away from others to limit exposure
  • If you feel you have COVID-19 symptoms, get tested to limit potential spread
