Newborn Care

Bringing your newborn home can be overwhelming and unpredictable. Your baby will grow and change a lot during the first months.

Whether you are a first time parent or seasoned, give yourself some time to settle into new routines.

Choosing a Doctor

Before coming the hospital to have your baby, its important to select your baby's doctor. A pediatrician or family physician will need to examine your baby before you leave the hospital.

When choosing your baby's doctor, ask your yourself some of these questions and decide what is most important to you:

  • Do you feel comfortable asking questions and talking with the doctor?
  • Where is the office located in relation to your home, work and/or daycare?
  • What are the office hours?
  • Who covers on weekends and holiday?
  • Are there other doctors in the practice?

Prior to your stay on Women and Infant Services to deliver your baby, you will need to select and secure a pediatrician or a family medicine provider for your baby.
