Ways to Give

Options for Charitable Giving

MEMORIAL HOSPITAL FOUNDATION offers a number of ways for the public to get involved and ensure the success of the Foundation’s fundraising. Cash gifts or checks are just one way to contribute to the Foundation unrestrictedly or even to a specific cause like heart care, skilled care, pediatric care, or cancer care.

Donations may be mailed to Memorial Hospital Foundation; 800 West 9th Street; Jasper, IN; 47546. Credit card contributions may be made here.

Donations may also include estate planning tools such as charitable trusts, gift annuities, gifts-in-kind, stocks, bonds, and mutual funds, real estate, and other types of estate gifts. Many donors are interested in these options, which allow them to make larger donations, create current income, and generate immediate tax deductions for themselves. All donations are appreciated, no matter how large or small, and all contributions are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowable by law.

OUR GIFT TO YOU . . . Free Estate Planning Assistance

Especially in this time of economic uncertainty and with the inevitability of Congressional changes to estate tax laws, Memorial Hospital Foundation offers you the opportunity to meet with a seasoned professional who does not sell anything, does not manage money, and does not draft legal documents. His sole objective and responsibility is to determine the best estate plan for you. Frank Stepp, Vice President of Thompson & Associates, a national leader in estate planning, has helped thousands of people all across America. This confidential service is offered to you at no-cost and with no-obligation.

Over the past six months, Frank has met with more than 20 local families to help them create an estate plan or to review their current plans. He utilizes his vast experiences while tapping into the knowledge of Thompson and Associates' experienced team of estate planning professionals of CPAs, attorneys, financial planners and others. Many of our donors have found that Frank and his resources are able to reduce their estate taxes and estate expenses, while increasing assets that they have chosen to leave to their heirs.

Frank's approach will help you answer the following questions:

  • Is there a way to provide myself and my family with greater, tax-reduced income?
  • What are the best uses of my assets?
  • Is there a way to increase what I leave my heirs?
  • Should I distribute their inheritances over a period of years?

The entire process may take four to six meetings depending upon your needs. Monthly meetings with Frank are 30-60 minutes in length. They can be held anywhere: your home, your office, in the private conference room of the Foundation office, and even in the presence of your family if you so desire. You may meet with Frank as long as it helps you, and you may discontinue your meetings at any time for any reason. Upon completion of your meetings, Frank will present you with a written estate plan suggestion for you to take to your attorney and financial advisors to implement.

We hope you will take advantage of this no-cost, no-obligation opportunity to review or create an estate plan. Please call the Foundation office at 812-996-8426 if you have questions or would like to schedule a 30-minute initial meeting with Frank. It is our "gift" to you for all you have done for us and the patients in the communities we serve.
