Dr. Clare Braun Hashemi, Neurologist, Joins Memorial Hospital’s Staff

Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center recently appointed Clare Braun Hashemi, M.D. to the Medical Staff.  She is the second full-time neurologist added to the staff in recent years.  As a neurologist, Dr. Braun Hashemi treats patients with medical illnesses/diseases associated with the anatomy and physiology of the brain and nervous system.  While she treats all general neurological issues, she has extensive experience caring for patients with multiple sclerosis, migraine, and neuromuscular diseases.

Dr. Braun Hashemi, a native of Indianapolis, received her undergraduate and graduate degrees at Indiana State University and medical degree at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis.  Following medical school, Dr. Braun Hashemi served her internship at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie and completed a neurology residency at Indiana University School of Medicine.  She also completed an EMG/neuromuscular fellowship at University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.

From 1990 – 1998, Dr. Braun Hashemi served as assistant professor of clinical neurology at Wayne State University, School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan and was a university affiliate staff physician at the Veterans Administration Medical Center.  In 1998, she moved to Indianapolis where she worked as a staff neurologist for Hoosier Neurology, P.C. until 2004.  For the past three years, Dr. Braun Hashemi served as a staff neurologist at the Indiana Center for Multiple Sclerosis and Neuroimmunologic Disorders.

Dr. Braun Hashemi holds board certification with the American Board of Neurology and Psychiatry and is a member of American Academy of Neurology, American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers, and Indiana State Medical Association.  She and her husband, Michael, have recently relocated to Jasper.
